Myler Western Dee with Hooks Low Port Comfort Snaffle MB 04, 5" — Sweet Iron, Level 2, Direct or Indirect Action

The Myler MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle on the Western Dee with Hooks is a Level 2 bit that offers greater versatility than the Western Dee without hooks — the rider can transition between direct and indirect rein action without changing bits. The MB 04 curved mouthpiece wraps around bars and lips rather than pinching; a 1/4" port introduces tongue relief and rewards forward movement; Independent Side Movement allows nuanced lateral communication. The hooks allow headstall attachment for correct bit position, rein attachment for Independent Side Movement activation, and optional curb strap for added poll and chin pressure.

  • MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle — 1/4" Port for Tongue Relief — Rotates onto tongue with tongue pressure; 1/4" port introduces relief when horse is relaxed; curved mouthpiece wraps around bars and lips; sweet iron oxidizes to encourage salivation
  • Western Dee with Hooks — Direct or Indirect Action — Reins on rein hooks allow rider to lift the cheek and activate Independent Side Movement; attaching reins to the bottom ring gives direct action; adding a curb strap introduces chin and poll pressure; the hooks make this bit significantly more versatile than the dee without hooks
  • Headstall Hook Positions Bit Correctly — Top hook attachment holds bit in correct position rather than allowing it to slide around bridle cheek pieces
  • Independent Side Movement — Each side of the mouthpiece works independently for nuanced lateral communication when reins are attached through rein hooks
  • Level 2 Transition Bit — Suitable for green horses, horses entering the Myler System, horses ridden exclusively in single-jointed mouthpieces, or horses needing re-schooling
