The Myler MB 36 on the 7" Flat Shank is a Level 2-3 bit that serves as Myler's alternative to the traditional mullen — with the added benefit of a 1" port tilted forward at a 45° angle. The forward tilt allows just enough room for the horse's tongue to elevate slightly and swallow without reaching palate pressure. When reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips, with some tongue pressure added by the forward tilt. Sweet iron oxidizes to encourage salivation.
